We’re putting together a series of videos for all you snow fighters out there that talk about the latest advancements with our KAGE® Snowfire and Snowstorm Series Snow Plows. The upgrades are subtle and not always visible to the untrained eye, but they’re important snow plow features that significantly improve our already great line of snow plow systems.

For this blog post, we’re going to talk specifically about KAGE® Snow Kage Box itself. Within the Snow Kage assembly there have been two recent upgrades. Actually, I shouldn’t say recent because they’ve been on our plow systems since 2014. Long overdue information, but still important to bring up.

Added Support for the Snow Pusher Box Side Panels

Snow Pusher Box Side PanelsThe first feature we changed is the height of the side panels sitting up from the plowing surface. You’ll notice that we added height to the poly skids themselves to get those side panels up. This gets them up and away from the curbs resulting in less damage to them.

Also, with the side panels we’ve added more support to the lower front edge. To do this we heightened the reinforcement backing plate (see photo) to be able to lower the angle support on the side panel reducing the possibility of that side panel bending.

To really beef up the joint between the side panel and the angle support, we also added two angle gussets.

Snow Catch Angle Bracket Gets a Makeover

snow-kage-snow-catch-angle-bracket-upgradeThe rubber snow catch is designed to corral the snow that tries to escape between the snow plow moldboard and the box side panels. There’s a lot of pressure being exerted on that rubber snow catch and as a result, the angle bracket located the bottom would bend and ultimately snow would get left behind. We’ve widened the angle bracket for added stability and now make it with an even thicker gauge steel.

Identifying the weak points on our snow plows can be a difficult thing to predict, but thanks to the feedback we get from our dealers and customers – we can quickly identify those problem areas and fix them. Our goal is to sell the toughest pusher snow plow system on the planet. With the dedication of our engineers, production staff and the help of all our loyal followers, we firmly believe we’re there.
